At TVF, we’re proud to be one company made up of a diverse group of people and talents. We would not be where we are without our many departments working together to put our best foot forward. This year has had its own fair share of challenges, especially the supply chain disruptions taking place. TVF’s purchasing team has worked tirelessly to live out our core values – including helping others succeed.
That’s what the purchasing team does best: help others, – sales consultants, vendors, customers – succeed. They don’t just fulfill purchase orders, they maintain relationships. “I enjoy my role tremendously because I have created such a great rapport with my vendors and salespeople,” says Connie Rentschler, Purchasing Coordinator of 11 years. “I have great interactions with every area of my job, and as a people person I enjoy that.” Brittany Chelf has been a Purchasing Coordinator at TVF for five years. She enjoys her team because they help one another and put relationships before anything else.
This strong team continues to grow, too. With the many demands of our current climate, the purchasing team has brought on two new members in 2021. Adam Kilbride, a new Purchasing Coordinator has been encouraged by the support of the team. “As a newer team member, I feel fully supported by those I work with– especially my manager. If I have a question, someone will be able to help me or at least point me in the right direction.” Another recent addition to the team is Erin Adair-Lentz, who has continued to thrive thanks to the support of those around her, sharing that “everyone is always willing to stop what they are doing to help answer a question or show you how to do something.”
As our sales team works hard to support customers, we’re proud to have a purchasing team that supports them. “We always try to stay one step ahead of the salespeople so that they can stay one step ahead of the customer,” says Renstchler. This team does so much behind the scenes to help orders go smoothly, make sure vendors are shipping on time, and more. Michelle Batchelor agrees: “What I enjoy the most is the problem-solving aspect of my job. I am always trying to figure out the best way – meaning fastest, cheapest, most efficient way – to get goods here for our sales team and customers. I have a great sense of pride in finding solutions for them.” Batchelor is also a Purchasing Coordinator and has been a part of the team for four years.
Whether it’s helping others succeed, being accountable, or putting relationships first, we’re especially proud of the Purchasing Team for displaying our core values so clearly. Kilbride agrees, saying “some companies speak about their core values, but TVF really lives and acts by them. When I interact with my manager, I see her putting relationships first and encouraging my work-life balance. It’s refreshing to see.”
We couldn’t agree more! Thank you to all of our Purchasing Team and the way you keep TVF running.
